CUPE 3911 Co-Chair Glynnis Lieb has been named the 2022 recipient of the Alberta Federation of Labour’s “May Day Solidarity Award.”
The May Day Solidarity Award was initiated in 1989 and is given to an Alberta trade unionist who has made an untiring contribution to peace, social justice, and the improvement of working conditions and workers’ rights for all Albertans.
We at CUPE 3911 know Glynnis as a hardworking, dedicated tutor, unionist, and friend, whose efforts within the Local benefit not only all of our members, but also our students, and the many others outside of AU whose rights are more secure and better defended because of her powerful and persuasive presence in the union movement.
In its notification letter, the AFL feted Glynnis as “…an outstanding champion for social justice, workers’ rights, and the improvement of working conditions for all Albertans and … a deserving recipient of this award. Keep up the outstanding work…”
Congratulations, again, Glynnis!!! It is an honour to work alongside and learn from you!
