In the interest of an open, transparent, and democratic election process, CUPE 3911 will regularly post updates on declared candidates and the positions for which they are seeking election. Members are encouraged to check this page regularly for updates as the election approaches.

Interested in Running?

Any member interested in serving on the Executive Committee is encouraged to declare their intention to stand for election as early as possible by emailing admin@cupe3911local.com.

Important Information for Candidates

Nomination Required

Declaring your intention to run does not automatically place your name on the ballot. To be included in the election, you must be formally nominated by a member present at the election meeting.

Advance Declaration Is Optional

Members are encouraged to declare their candidacy in advance; however, advance declaration is not required. Any eligible member who is properly nominated at the election meeting may stand for election.

Candidates Unable to Attend

If you are unable to attend the election meeting in person, you must provide written acceptance of your nomination before the election. An email indicating your willingness to stand for a specific position, sent to admin@cupe3911local.com, will satisfy this requirement.

Multiple Candidates Welcome

More than one member may stand for the same position. Contested elections are an important part of a healthy and democratic union.
