Forty years ago, CUPE members created this day to remember workers who have lost their lives on the job and to inspire others to advocate to prevent further tragedies. It is now recognized as a National Day of Mourning. Among many events planned to mark the day, the Calgary & District Labour Council is holding a special commemorative event at noon.
